Review Methodology

DSULABs reviews skincare, supplements and wellness products with a transparent, evidence-first framework. Our analysis is informed by Dr. Sultan U.’s PharmD and PhD training, medicinal-chemistry background and drug-discovery research experience.

What we evaluate

  1. Formulation: active ingredients, chemical form, concentration when disclosed, excipients, pH when relevant, stability and ingredient compatibility.
  2. Evidence: whether the proposed benefit is supported by systematic reviews, human trials, authoritative guidance or only preliminary and mechanistic research.
  3. Safety and tolerability: strength, fragrance, common irritants, allergies, medication or supplement interactions, contraindications and fit for different users.
  4. Packaging and use: protection from light and air, dosing, texture, routine compatibility and realistic adherence.
  5. Value: formulation quality, usable quantity and practical performance relative to price. A higher price does not automatically mean a better product.

How we grade evidence

  • Well supported: consistent, relevant human evidence or strong authoritative guidance.
  • Promising: encouraging but limited, mixed or indirect human evidence.
  • Preliminary: mainly laboratory, animal or mechanistic evidence.
  • Not established: claims that exceed the available evidence or are primarily marketing language.

Our review process

We define the user need, compare current formulas, verify material claims against manufacturer information and relevant evidence, identify meaningful differences, and assign clear “best for” labels. We include limitations so the reader can see why a strong product may still be a poor fit for a particular skin type, routine, medication profile or budget.

Hands-on testing is never implied. When DSULABs has personally used or tested a product, the review will say so and describe the conditions. Otherwise, the assessment is based on formulation, published evidence, disclosed product information and practical considerations.

Commercial relationships

Affiliate commissions do not determine inclusion, rank or verdict. DSULABs does not sell favorable reviews. Buying guides include a clear disclosure and use “sponsored” link attributes where appropriate. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Updates and corrections

Formulas, availability and evidence change. We update pages when a material change is identified and welcome corrections through our contact page. A correction will not be withheld because of an affiliate relationship.
